Summary:
This article informs us about the developments that are taking place around the unemployed people in the UK. Most companies give the available jobs to East European man/woman. This is not the way to stimulate your own market according to Employment Minister Grayling. He thinks companies should give the jobs to what he calls ‘local recruits’. Jobs are rare and you should at least give the jobs to the people in your own country. In order to compete with other Latin American countries, British workers should show their willingness to work and work their way up from the bottom. ( words 99)

Review:
I think the proposal from Minister Grayling is a very positive one. Not only should we invest in our own economy we should encourage each other to work hard to survive the crisis without too much damage. If we give all our jobs to people who may offer less salary, we get more and more unemployed people every day. I do not think this only applies in the UK, but all around Europe. We should take this advice off by heart and do something with it so we can survive the crisis!  ( words 92).

1 opmerking:

  1. Seems like the eastern Europeans flew to Britain too!
Did you know most of them only work in foreign countries for a couple of months and then go back to their family with the money they have earned! In eastern European countries the life standard is much lower than in Great Britain. So when they take back the salary they have earned in a couple of months it might be worth a couple of years of work in their own country.
It’s sad that British people become unemployed do to the people from eastern Europe but I think the situation can be compared to the situation in the Netherlands where people from eastern Europe work hard for little money. If the Brits work a bit harder and accept the jobs for a lower pay roll the problem might be solved.
Mister Grayling’s proposal sounds as a solution for the problem but I think it is unfair to the eastern Europeans. Exploiting your own countries economics is important but if there is no law to stop eastern Europeans from getting in to Great Britain it’s unfair to decline them from work. Only if their behavior or gusset isn’t well you should decline hard working people from a job.
